With it achieving 1.5 million concurrent players in the region early last year, blade and soul gold a higher number than has been achieved by the likes of World of Warcraft, it certainly has the potential to become the next big thing in the genre. Picking a new MMO is tricky. Not only are you potentially going to give over literally hundreds of hours to your chosen one, you’re also reliant on a massive player base and diligent background development to keep it going.
And a wealth of content to provide any sense of longevity. Thanks to already hugely impressive player numbers, solid gameplay and heaps of content, Blade & Soul looks like it’s here to stay. Blade & Soul is the latest big-budget MMORPG to hit the Western market. It’s quickly propelled itself into spotlight due to its favorable action combat system and delightful presentation. But many have found difficulty in choosing a class to play due to its unorthodox class design. Gear and weapons in Blade and Soul work a little bit differently from other games.
There is just one weapon that carries you through the main story line of quests, and your decisions come down to when to upgrade that weapon. The upgrades start out easy, but become more complex and more costly as you go on. You should not try to upgrade your weapon to the greatest extent because after you get to level 45 and beyond, better weapons start to become available. You should upgrade whenever you feel that your attack damage is falling behind. This is a subjective feeling, but it will become clear as you play. There are specific stages to the evolution process.
There are a total of seven classes in Blade & Soul, and all of them have a distinct taste that doesn’t quite equate to conventional MMORPG principles with every class being capable of filling multiple roles through specialization. The Force Master class uses their inner Chi to deliver a variety of devastating blows to their enemies. Using the Ki-Gong-Pe, a Chi bracelet they wear around their wrist, they can shoot off many different forms of abilites, ranging from fire explosions to chi leeching techniques that deliver unavoidable attacks and grabs. Only available to the mighty Gon, with their two-handed, oversized weaponry, Destroyers are a physically imposing class that are very easy to get to grips with, yet possess the ability to deal out a massive amount of damage. Destroyers are skilled at taking on multiple enemies at once with their spin attacks, with them also able to grab enemies and juggle them for combo opportunities. They’re also armed with a Stone Shield for defensive purposes, making them able to withstand punishment, too.
The Blade & Soul also has some weaknesses. For some, the Destroyer will be considered too much of a formulaic class. With them being mostly reliant upon the same sets high-impact combos, they’re a useful class to have around given their ability to control crowds, but not exactly the most fun. Force Masters are the masters of control, they can apply movement impairing effects to multiple enemies, allowing them to take on more than one foe at a time. Force Masters are closest to the wizards and magi of traditional RPGs. They can utilize powerful fire and ice elemental attacks from a distance, but have low HP.
